| Welcome to the Tobacco Valley! The Tobacco Valley is the area around Eureka, Montana. A small valley, it begins about 10 miles south of Lake Koocanusa and opens up to a five-mile wide plain where the Tobacco River feeds into the lake. The entire area is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise with many lakes, hiking trails and millions of acres of national forest. Snowfall in this valley averages 12 to 24 inches per season. The adjacent area has some of the best fishing and hunting in the North West with numerous lakes and streams. | Lincoln County has all types of outdoor activities, such as skiing, tennis, golf, fishing, hunting, swimming, boating, water-skiing, horseback riding, hiking, camping and huckleberry picking. The nearest commercial airport is only 65 miles away in Kalispell, and there is a new 4200 feet paved strip for private planes 6 miles north of Eureka, where the Land Store is located. Population for the Tobacco Valley is approximately 4,500 and the economic base, timber and the cattle industry, are undergoing a steady metamorphisis towards recreation and a growing retirement area.
